Ceiling Fans – A Style For Every Home By Sharon Mcneece

Are you interested in a new ceiling fan for your home? You have hundreds of options to consider, but do not worry. The perfect fan is out there waiting for you. Ceiling fans come with many different sizes of fan blade and lighting fixtures. Even the mounting style can be different from fan to fan. Consider some of the many ceiling fans available.

There are traditional, classic, traditional, modern, transitional, retro, and tropical styled ceiling fans. And those are not even all the types of styles available. Tropical fans use large, oval shaped blades that are often designed to look like leaves, tapestry, or weaving. Modern fans stick to clean lines and simple colors. Traditional ceiling fans are elegant and add a decorative touch to any room.

Ceiling fans come with a variety of different lighting styles as well. Most use one or more bulbs beneath a lighting globe. This is made of glass that is usually frosted or smoky to help diffuse light. If you do not like your fan’s bulb, there are hundreds of options for replacement globes. The same is true of fans whose lights are separated surrounded by lighting shades.

The length of a ceiling fan’s blades affects how much breeze it can create. Small fans can have blades as short as 29 inches. Large fans designed for use in great rooms with high ceilings may have blades that are 60 inches long. Even bigger are industrial fans used to cool warehouses and large workshops.

You can even select how you want to control your fan’s lighting and speed. In the past, fans were always controlled by pull strings connected to the base of the fan’s motor housing. This is no longer the case. Many modern fans come with a remote control that lets you control the brightness of the lighting. The fan speed is also controllable by remote. Just try not to lose the remote!

Ceiling fans have changed greatly since they were first introduced to the world over 100 years ago. And rightly so! Now, you can find a ceiling fan with all the features and style you want.
